O Organics Fight Hunger. Serve Hope Grant RFP
Join us and make your voice heard!
O Organics, a part of the company’s Own Brands portfolio, has established the Fight Hunger. Serve Hope Grant to support organizations that are working to reduce food insecurity and improve nutrition among low-income children and families, especially during the summer and after school hours when they are most vulnerable. The grant aims to fund programs that can help provide access to meals to youth, and increase participation in federal nutrition programs, such as the Summer Food Service Program (SFSP), the Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP), and the Summer EBT.
Scope of the grant
The grant will provide funding for the following types of programs:
- Summer Meals: Programs that provide free, nutritious meals and snacks to children and teens 18 and under during the summer months, when they lose access to school meals.
- After School Meals: Programs that provide free, nutritious meals and snacks to children and teens 18 and under during the school year, after the regular school hours.
- Capacity Building of Other Organizations: Programs that provide training, technical assistance, and outreach to help other organizations start or expand summer or after school meal programs.
- Connecting People to Summer EBT: Programs that help eligible families access and use the Summer EBT. Programs can conduct outreach and education to inform families about the program and/or can provide assistance with enrollment.
Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for the grant, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Be a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization or a K-12 school.
- Organizations must operate within counties where Albertsons Companies stores are located (please refer to the attached store list)
- Have a proven track record of the proposed project or have a clear plan and capacity to do so.
- Have a clear and measurable goal and strategy to address food insecurity and improve nutrition among low-income children and families in their community.
