Hunger Intervention Program
The mission of the Hunger Intervention Program (HIP) is to increase food security for underserved populations in North King County through nutritious meals, educational programs, and advocacy. We envision a world where nutritious food is accessible to everyone in our community.

Volunteer Opportunities: Volunteers are needed to prepare and serve meals for HIP's meal programs, which serve seniors and unhoused individuals across North King County. In addition, help is needed to create Healthy HIP Packs, which are weekend food packs for students. Depending on the time of year, other volunteer opportunities may include delivering meals or groceries to participants, helping to address and stuff appeal letters, technical assistance, and more.

Friends of Youth
We partner with youth and families to provide the relationships, resources, and skills they need to attain personal growth and success.

Volunteer Needs: Volunteers can help with our donation sorting and organizing, as well as administrative tasks. We also have opportunities to donate meals, help out around the holidays, or do projects at one of our sites. In 2023 will be opening up our volunteer opportunities to work directly with our programs.

Tilth Alliance
Tilth Alliance works in community with Washington farmers, gardeners and eaters to build a sustainable, healthy and equitable food future. Tilth Alliance promotes organic and sustainable practices using farms, gardens and kitchens as classrooms where people from all backgrounds can learn to grow, prepare and eat food.

Volunteer Needs: We host a wide variety of volunteer opportunities that will get your hands dirty in the gardens, farm, wetlands, and forests. Volunteers can also help improve access to fresh produce in our community, celebrate community meals and support family and senior nutrition programs, and make our annual events successful.
How to Sign Up: First-time volunteering? Please complete a volunteer registration form before signing up for your first shift. Once you’ve registered, you can browse the types of volunteer opportunities that we offer below and sign up for a shift.
Most of our volunteer opportunities are one-time commitments lasting 2-4 hours, with easy online sign-ups. If you decide to volunteer on a regular basis, simply sign up for multiple shifts. Most volunteer jobs display shifts for 4-6 weeks at a time. Some volunteer jobs lend themselves to flexible scheduling and their descriptions will include staff contact information so you can arrange a time to volunteer. First Five Years & Beyond
We work with immigrant and African American families to support them in preparing their children for school and life. We run an expanded learning program for elementary and middle school students providing after school enrichment activities.

African Community Housing & Development
Our mission is to provide opportunities for African Diaspora immigrant and refugee communities, families, and individuals in King County to attain health and housing stability, economic development, high-quality education, and referrals to legal services. Led by visionary women of color, ACHD provides holistic, complete, and culturally-responsive support for African Diaspora immigrants in South Seattle and South King County.
Our main volunteer opportunity is at the Delridge Farmers Market, our BIPOC-priority market bringing fresh, local culturally relevant food and goods to Southwest Seattle. We are building a new market model rooted in community care, building food systems and economic equity - each market day we have lots of free food and resources available, charge no vendor fees, give all kids youth bucks to practice healthy shopping, purchase and freely distribute any leftover produce at the end of the day, and much more.

The Salvation Army
As long as there's The Salvation Army, there's no such thing as 'no place to go.'
Salvation Army programs help the most vulnerable and disadvantaged members of our community meet their basic human needs for safety, food, and shelter. - Cook and Serve Opportunities- Join us at our Orion center to help cook a meal, serve food, and lead clean up!
- Meal Donations- Cook at home and make your way to a program and drop off your meal.
- Holiday Meals- We are currently looking for individuals or groups to cook meals and donate them for Thanksgiving or December Holiday Parties.
- Holiday gifts- We are currently looking for individuals or groups to answer client wish lists by purchasing and wrapping the items they wished for.
- Group projects- Always looking for groups to come in and help deep clean/organize program houses and centers.
- Donations- Always looking for snack, clothing, shoes, school supplies, art supplies, games, hygiene product donations

How to Sign Up: Volunteers must go to https://hopelink.volunteerhub.com and click create account. Once they have created an account, our volunteer team will run their background check and send them an invitation to attend a 90-minute volunteer orientation. Once the volunteer has attended orientation, they'll be able to see and sign up for volunteer shifts.
