One mission, three horizons
Nourishing Neighbors is a program of Albertsons Companies Foundation. Together with local organizations, we help make nourishing food and lasting support more accessible to kids, seniors and families.
Our mission
To provide all our neighbors access to nourishing food.
We fund access to meals today, connect families to federal programs that can build stability tomorrow and invest in work to break the cycle of hunger forever. The goal is for neighbors to have the nourishment they need to learn, grow and succeed.
A decade of community action
The work adds up because neighbors, customers, stores and community organizations keep showing up together.

Today, tomorrow and forever
Hunger asks for immediate help and long-term change. We work on both at once, neighborhood by neighborhood.
Feed neighbors today
Nutritious breakfasts for children, holiday dinners, school pantries and rapid relief for communities hit by disaster.
$13 million
in holiday gift cards distributed to food banks in 2025, giving families the dignity of choosing foods for their own tables.
Build for tomorrow
Connecting neighbors to lasting federal support such as SNAP, WIC and Summer EBT, so a helping hand can become lasting stability, not just a single meal.
250,000+ people
connected to SNAP, unlocking more than $70 million in benefits. SummerEBT.org has also received more than 600,000 visits, helping families unlock an estimated $10.3 million in summer benefits.
End hunger forever
Partnering with local organizations and investing in locally tailored, long-term solutions that reach the roots of food insecurity.
$18 million
invested in bold ideas through Innovation Spark Grants over two years. The continuing goal is to invest $10 million annually toward ending the cycle of hunger.
The next goal: enable 1.5 billion meals by 2030.*
That ambition sits alongside a commitment to invest $10 million each year in efforts that help end the cycle of hunger.
* The 1.5 billion-meal goal is being pursued in collaboration with Albertsons Companies through a combination of surplus food donations from stores and funds raised by the Albertsons Companies Foundation. Read more here.
