Nourishing Neighbors and Albertsons Companies Customers Raise Over $4.9 Million During Hunger Action Month
Join us and make your voice heard!
Albertsons Companies, in partnership with the Albertsons Companies Foundation and its charitable program Nourishing Neighbors, continued the annual, customer-driven donation campaign as part of its longstanding commitment to fighting hunger. We're proud to share that, thanks to the generosity of our customers, more than $4.9 million was raised during September’s Hunger Action Month.
Throughout September, shoppers at Albertsons, Safeway, Vons, Jewel-Osco, Shaw’s, ACME, Tom Thumb and other Albertsons Cos. stores had the opportunity to donate at the register.
Every dollar contributed stayed within the local community, directly supporting neighborhood food banks, pantries and community organizations working to ensure families have access to nutritious food.
Thank You to Our Customers
Your compassion and commitment made this donation campaign a resounding success. Because of you:
- Over 100 local organizations will receive Nourishing Neighbors grants to support hunger relief efforts.
- Families across the country will have more consistent access to meals and essential nutrition programs.
Our Ongoing Commitment
Nourishing Neighbors is committed to helping ensure at-risk children, adults, seniors and families have access to the food they need to thrive. Since 2014, the program has delivered more than 1.3 billion meals and contributed over $330 million to fight hunger across the country.
This September’s campaign is a testament to what we can accomplish together. As we look ahead, we remain committed to deepening our impact and helping our neighbors thrive.

Hello my name is Nonna Waterman, I run a small 501(c)3 veteran non-profit called Veteran Information Center. What we do is link veterans and their families to resources and other veterans orginaztions that can provide assistance with food, clothes, housing, showers. Most of the veterans are seniors and there are times when it comes down to paying bills, buying food for themselves, their pets food or even their medications. What I would like to be able to do is provide them with food they can pick up at the breakfast we provide to them every monday for free. If this is something that you can help with please let me know. My email is vicpresident2026@gmail.com.
