Albertsons Hunger Bag Fund Drive 2021:

November 1st, 2021, thru December 2021 7 days a week from 11:00 am – 7:00pm. City Gates Hosts Albertsons Hunger Bag Fund Drive.

The proceeds which come from Albertsons “Hunger Bag” fund drive have helped over 1,200 households maintain financial security threw the commodities associated from your volunteer support and the food and provision donated to help families in need.

Volunteer’s man the tables inside the store and hand out lists of items patrons can purchase.

It is a great way to give back.

November 13th, 2021, Westwood Baptist Church will host City Gates Ministries benefit live and silent auction. We are looking forward to seeing you!

Thursday Night Street Lights:

Every Thursday City Gates takes a fleet of trucks to the corner of State and Adams.

We open with a gospel message at 7:00pm and then open the trucks to serve the less fortunate with provision, food, blankets, clothes, hygiene, propane, candles, flashlights etc.

Open invitation for as many who would like to volunteer!

Food Ministry
We are looking for individual home groups or church ministry teams to take on one week a month in preparing food for Street Lights. Our weeks of availability are every 4th and 5th week of the month. All food and condiments will be provided for the teams preparing food. Tables pop-ups, disinfectant and sanitizer will also be accommodated. Usually, 2-3 people is sufficient to hand out the meals during the Thursday night services between 7-9pm.

Restocking vans:

Your donated clothes are sorted and used to restock the vans for the following Thursday services.

Food Delivery:

Throughout the year City Gates delivers food to people who do not have the means to get to the food bank. The elderly, disabled, and those who live outside the bus line or do not have vehicles.

City Gates will supply food and provision needed for each delivery, including Hygiene items, detergents, diapers, wipes etc. We include the contact information, name address, and circumstance.

The objective is to deliver the provision and pray for those receiving.

Lunch Bag Ministry:

We are looking for individual home groups or ministry teams to make the 120 sandwiches that go out Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Fridays to the less fortunate in our community. 40 lunches are prepared and delivered for each day. This is a great way to get the children’s ministry or youth involved in supporting the less fortunate. Sandwiches consist of PB and Jelly, Turkey wraps etc. All commodities to make the sandwiches / bag lunches are provided.

We are looking for two volunteers to deliver sandwiches and pray for people on Tuesday and Fridays, Vehicle for deliveries is provided by City Gates Ministries

Furniture Ministry:

Furniture Ministry runs on Saturdays. Truck is routed to different locations to pick up donated furniture and then delivered to individuals transitioning into housing.

Your donated furniture and home goods help this ministry function to is full capacity.

Thanksgiving Basket Delivery

November 20th, 2021, Roots Community Church sponsors and delivers Thanksgiving baskets to struggling families and individuals who otherwise would not be able to celebrate Thanksgiving.

Though The Roots Community Church, City Gates Ministries will provide everything needed to make it on the Thanksgiving table. A turkey, potatoes, green beans, dressing, pie, fruit, gravy, eggs, rolls and dry goods.

We will meet with three teams, first team of 10 will start at 11:00 and meet at Life Pointe Church on November 20th to pack the boxes and extra food and personally deliver the food to the families who have requested help for the giving season. Second team will meet at 1:00 and our third team will finish the remainder of the packing and deliveries at 3:00pm.

Local Missions Mobile Home Projects:11

New project is scheduled to start in October.

Starting times:

Times are flexible for teams throughout the month.
Saturdays are always open 8:00am / 3:00pm

For kids who want to get involved Demo, paint, and clean. For more experienced individuals who can refurbish floors, sheet walls, plumb, or know some form of electrical.

Back to School Backpack Ministry

August 12th 6:00 pm. Corner of State and Adams

Volunteers will be needed to set up pop ups, tables, and fencing. Hand out back packs, pray. And man tables.

Panera Bread Donations:

City Gates Ministries pick up from Penera Bread Every Sunday Monday and Tuesday 9:00pm.

We are currently needing Volunteers for every Sunday and Wednesday night for pick up.
